My Fellow Pickaxians, 

The time has come for us to celebrate the independence of diamonds, cobble and zombie flesh, well drop them from above.

There will be a weekend packed with events that will of course include our famous drop parties on both Skyblock and Survival, we know how much you love them!

The times and dates will be:

Skyblock drop party - Saturday 2nd July - 10pm (BST)  5pm (ET) 3pm (MDT) 9am (NZST)

Survival Drop Party - Sunday 3rd July - 10pm (BST) 5pm (ET) 3pm (MDT) 9am (NZST)

Other times for games and events will be announced shortly.

Now for your job:

We need donations. The more we have the longer the party will be! The more stackable items the longer the party will be. 

With your help we can make this the best drop party ever!

The black market, on both survival and skyblock is supposed to be a challenge to find and to get into. As with all black markets they are supposed to be hidden.

Telling other players where it is is pointless, they may as well put the items in the normal market.

Making it easy to get into is also pointless, they also may as well put the items in the normal market.

Come on guys, stop wanting everything handed to you and work on finding things, practice the timings of getting in. It does work. 

My concern is what if players don't want to pvp? Does that mean during certain times or certain days they are not able to leave their towns? Can't go mining? Cant compete in the monster hunt? If you don't want PvP to collect the player's items why not just arrange to play go to the the PvP arena, then you get to fight with players that also want to PvP.

Tonight I read a post regarding the server market place and I thought it would be good to create a thread where shop owners can briefly advertise their establishments and let players know how to find them. 

So my shop..

Location: /t spawn excelsior

How to find: From the spawn follow the walkway off the ship, into the main town.

Sells: Almost everything in a variety of different themed rooms

Buys: Blocks, mob drops, Sparkly things

I look forward to seeing what other shops are available on the server

To make a shop simply shift and left click on a chest with the item you want to buy/sell in hand. Then enter in chat how much you want to buy/sell it for. To change a selling shop into a buying shop look at the chest and type /qs buy.

Please keep this thread for shop listings only, any other posts will be hidden.

As Ben mentioned, the ideal survival server you have described is available and is on the Pickaxis network. However this does not have towny. Hardcore is solely PvP and raiding. Unfortunately I'm not sure many people play on there any more. I would gladly come and play on there if you want to, and if you can encourage other players to do so. 

I can't see survival changing. In all the time I have played survival nobody else has raised these concerns. I assume as they have stuck around on the server, as they enjoy the way it works. The problem I see is if a player is working really hard to make a town, but before they can their items and buildings get stolen and damaged. This would probably lose heart in it and quit. I know these sorts of servers are available elsewhere, it is just not what Pickaxis is or what it is about. 

Go on hardcore and see if you can find all my stuff!

I like the idea... the only concern I have is how many times could a player get the items. So if, as r4ans0m suggested, if the obby rank allowed you to get diamonds and diamond gear daily it would make it very OP and pretty much make diamonds worthless.

Do /lwc flag hopper on ....then punch the chest they go into. You will need to do this for every hopper to chest combination. It is put in the place to stop other players from placing a hopper under a chest you own and filter out your items.

I just wanted to run through a recent rule change and some reminders for you all.

As some of you may be aware we have updated the rules with regards to players being AFK on survival. 

The rule (number 1) now states the following

"Do not AFK for extended periods of time, or near anything that could negatively impact other player's experience"

This means you will be kicked if you afk for long periods of time, especially at automatic farms. 

Extended periods of time is generally 30-45 mins or longer. All staff can check your last known movements and will try to communicate with you before kicking you.

One thing we have noticed recently is the amount of players making long strip mines in the normal world. Please refrain from doing this as we do not want the whole world chopping up. The mining world is a great place for resources, and is reset monthly, so please use it for your resource gathering. 

Can I please ask players to stop begging or demanding other players and staff for items, death points or certain locations. It is not a staff members job to find your stuff after death or finding places you have lost. I will help players where I can but I will only do so when shown respect from the player, not when I am told I have to. Every item on Minecraft is replaceable.  Remember your manners!

Finally, please refrain from "fake" auctions. continuously putting an auction up when you intend on cancelling it is a little unfair, especially on newer or players with little money.

Hey guys I just wanted to give you some information about the way the dragon now works in 1.9 on the Pickaxis server.

The dragon, in both survival and skyblock, will spawn as normal on the third Tuesday of every month when the worlds are reset. This dragon, as normal, is on a first come first kill basis. 

We have had issues in the past where the dragon egg will not spawn, if this is the case please ask an admin who will check the logs and ensure you are given the egg. 

1.9 has made it possible for the dragon to be respawned. To do this you need to craft  end crystals and place it on top of the exit portal. This dragon will drop less xp than the initial dragon and will NOT drop an egg and an admin will not give you one. 

We did have a few initial problems with the generation of the dragon, I would like to thank you all for your patience in getting it up and running.

As with anything new, there will be teething problems, please report an issues you have to staff or here on the forum.

Finally I would like to give a massive shoutout and thanks to the legend that is  @NickG365 who has worked tirelessly to get the server updated for the Pickaxis family to enjoy, we all hope you enjoy the changes.
