Hello everyone!
 
I am a 21 year old college student. I have been playing Minecraft for the last 4 years. I love creating lots of different things from buildings to mines and everything in between. I am usually on everyday and look forward to meeting you all in game and on the forums.

From the start, we intended for Survival to be a more challenging server, especially in terms of economy, encouraging players to set up their own shops and trade amongst each other. Everyone on Survival has the ability to start their own chest shops from the moment they join. I do agree that there's room for expansion for the shops at spawn, as those haven't been updated in a while now. The reason you can only sell to them was primarily meant to get new players into the economy, adding currency to it when the server first started.
 
As for voting, I'm not sure why anyone would mention that as a way to get money, as there aren't any voting rewards that give any items or currency on Survival. Personally, I feel that completing challenges would probably be one of the best ways to get money.
 
With all that said, we've been considering making changes to the Survival economy for quite some time now, but we don't want to diminish the challenge involved in creating a town (meant to be a group effort, hence the high cost compared to how much money individual players can quickly obtain). I'd also want to avoid any changes that might lead to a few players rising to the top of the economy, because I feel that such a situation may be just as bad, if not worse, than the current one.
 
Do you have any ideas for improving player shops? I feel that giving them more exposure could help quite a bit, as right now, there isn't much of an option to find them aside from exploring.

I'm 30, male, married, all around gamer, and work in a warehouse. Also I live stream and plan to live stream this server. Funny thing is this server was recommended to me from someone on another server after we got to talking for awhile. I explained that I can't seem to find a server that has this and that and the person pointed me to here. So I hopped on and was shocked to see a survival server that actually challenges you to survive! I'm not angry about it but I did facepalm at the fact that so many "survival" servers didn't have mobs, what was I suppose to survive? Boredom? Anyways That's the extent of my intro.

We'd like to gauge whether or not anyone is interested in having PvP enabled in the Nether on SkyBlock and Survival. If this change is added, we'd ensure that you cannot fly away from PvP combat, and cannot initiate combat shortly after landing on the ground. Let us know if you'd be interested in such a change, and if you have anything to add!

I think this discussion has run its course, so I'm going to lock this topic.
 
While we do like to recognize those who are supporting PickAxis, we don't have plans to create a list at this time, primarily due to the fact that it would need to be manually updated. However, we may give them something special to distinguish them on the forums in the future. If you have any ideas pertaining to that, feel free to create a new topic and let us know.

It's great to see your face around here again.

Hai and welcome to my introduction!
 
My name is Meg and I am an avid MC player. I started playing more than a year ago and have been completely addicted ever since. I actually started at Pickaxis last summer helping to test the gamemodes for Husker before it even opened for beta, but I got lost along the way and was caught up in a hot mess.    I have recently shed said hot mess and am happy to start playing again on a server that puts players first and is stress and drama free.    My favorite gamemode is Skyblock so you will usually find me there. Come say Hi! I don't bite... hard.  
 
Some random facts about me. I live in Orlando with my dog Sophie. I am a cook for Universal Orlando Resort. My favorite color is blue. And I am deathly afraid of spiders.

For those who don't know me, my name is UnicornHorn! Long time MC player, as well as console gamer, board game player, and cellphone app beater. I'm a mommy of one 2yr old super mutant, wife of my manslave for almost 3 years, and the pet/butler to two dogs and one cat. I'm an at home mom who frequently visits Best Buy in disguise as an employee. Um....OH! I'm an old lady so yeah, I demand manners and polite behavior from all minions in my immediate vicinity. I've known several of the Admin, Owner and Players that play here at Pickaxis ( I knew them from another site ) and they truly are good, down to earth, friendly players.  I've only played on Pickaxis for less than a week and I have to say these guys and gals are great people.  I've seen some of the Skyblock Islands for the other players and I have seen some AMAZING builds.  Some creations I had no idea were even possible on Skyblock but sure enough they've done it. 
 
This skyblock is a little different than other skyblock sites I've played on.  It's a challenge for sure and if you choose to play and maybe donate I think you will come to appreciate the challenge that is offered here.  It's taken me a few days to get up and running but I'm well on my way to greatness. (hahahha)
 
So great job and a High Five to Huskergirl and the Admin staff for putting together a wonderful experience.

It has been sometime since my last dropparty, which obviously was a great succes.
I find it however time for another dropparty. I have been monitoring the donation chests at the dropparty room for some time now
and i am proud to say that we have gathered over 2 double chests of loot again!
Ofcourse until a date has been picked for this version 2 i will gather some materials to boost this dropparty again.
