Sometimes things don't go as planed and that happened. Nick has been trying to finish the new custom plugins and features but has kept running into real life events that he has had to do and other un-known variables. Be patient, there is no reason to worry. People behind the update are working their arse off to get it out as fast as possible, but will not push out an update that is going to be full of bugs and crash the server all the time. I mean unless you would rather have bugs ?
