It's been a busy week here at PickAxis!

First and foremost, auctions are now enabled on SkyBlock and Survival! You can use /auc in-game to start an auction. We plan to implement limits on how often players can create auctions in the future, so that everyone gets a fair chance to auction their items, but there are no limitations for alpha.

In-game mail can now be sent to other players as well, allowing you to keep in touch with your friends, even when they're not online. To send mail to someone, use /mail send followed by their name and the message you want to send to them. You'll get a notification when you log in if you have new mail, which you can read with /mail read and then empty your inbox with /mail clear.

We'll be launching limited time challenges on SkyBlock soon, and we're interested in hearing your ideas for what the first one should be! Let us know in the comments below!

Finally, our awesome build team has been hard at work on some new maps for our next server. Keep an eye out for what it might be!

Hey Donov,

You can reset your island by using /is reset.  This currently has a 4 hour cooldown.

Navigation compasses were added to the lobby recently.  Enjoy!

Thanks for the suggestion -- I'll look into the possibility of adding this once the full 1.8 update is available.

This changes my whole perspective on life.  I don't even know how to respond yet.

Unfortunately, we weren't able to retroactively provide the missing rewards for the affected challenges.  We did, however, reset them for the players that completed them, so that you'd be able to receive the correct first completion rewards, including the redstone dust.

Are we still getting redstone dust for the fisherman challenge because I didn't get mine.

All challenges with redstone dust as a reward were fixed to properly reward it last night, and reset for anyone who already completed them.

PickAxis is up and running.  Please double-check that you're connecting to play.pickaxis.com, and if you're still unable to connect, please PM me a traceroute.  On Windows, you can perform a traceroute by opening a command prompt and typing "tracert play.pickaxis.com" (without quotes), then right-click and select "Mark," drag a box around the entire output, and press enter to copy it to the clipboard.

There are so many great builds on Survival already -- looking forward to seeing the video when it's finished!

Chat command shortcuts were added to Creative and SkyBlock last night.  This includes the following:

• /w and /m for /msg
• /g, /l, and /s for their respective chat channels
• /ls for the player list
• /colors for a list of color codes

Hello everyone,

I'd like to take some time to address some recent issues we've seen on the SkyBlock server and how we'll be addressing them, as well as gather your feedback on changes we'd like to make.  Please keep in mind that PickAxis as a whole is still in alpha, and everything is subject to change at this point.

Some issues have cropped up regarding island protection, which was enabled yesterday.  Unfortunately, this meant having to remove and re-invite players to your party so that they could build on the island again.  Some players got stuck in parties or were unable to remove players from their party.  We're not aware of a fix for this at the moment.

We plan to implement a new custom SkyBlock plugin soon.  At this time, the new plugin does not have challenges or island levels.  We will, however, be able to keep your islands.  We'd like your feedback on whether or not we should make the switch to the new plugin immediately, or wait until these features have been added.  Please vote in the poll above (after carefully reading each question -- you can't change your vote later) and feel free to post a reply if you have any questions, concerns, or comments about these changes.

Weather should be disabled on creative now.

We don't have plans for a FTB server at this time.  I'm not sure if this would be something we'd consider in the future, as modded servers are fairly high-maintenance right now and we'd like to dedicate as much time as possible to the main network, keeping in mind that some players aren't able to play on modded servers for various reasons.

This was fixed along with some other challenges last night.  Please let us know if there's anything we missed. 

Island protection should be working as of last night.  If you previously invited any other players to your island, you'll need to re-invite them so that they can build again.

However, we don't have /t for private messages, as that's used for Towny on Survival.
