Chat command shortcuts were added to Creative and SkyBlock last night.  This includes the following:
/w and /m for /msg /g, /l, and /s for their respective chat channels /ls for the player list /colors for a list of color codes

Navigation compasses were added to the lobby recently.  Enjoy!

It's been a busy week here at PickAxis!
First and foremost, auctions are now enabled on SkyBlock and Survival! You can use /auc in-game to start an auction. We plan to implement limits on how often players can create auctions in the future, so that everyone gets a fair chance to auction their items, but there are no limitations for alpha.
In-game mail can now be sent to other players as well, allowing you to keep in touch with your friends, even when they're not online. To send mail to someone, use /mail send followed by their name and the message you want to send to them. You'll get a notification when you log in if you have new mail, which you can read with /mail read and then empty your inbox with /mail clear.
We'll be launching limited time challenges on SkyBlock soon, and we're interested in hearing your ideas for what the first one should be! Let us know in the comments below!
Finally, our awesome build team has been hard at work on some new maps for our next server. Keep an eye out for what it might be!

Hey Blast, long time no see!

WorldEdit is now available on the PickAxis Creative server! During alpha, it will be available to all players for testing. If you're new to WorldEdit, you can check out their wiki to get started.
There is currently a 6000 block limit per edit, and certain blocks cannot be placed with WorldEdit. Additionally, not all WorldEdit features are enabled. If you come across a feature that you think should be added, please let us know!
We're looking forward to seeing some awesome builds!

The server has bed sethomes enabled to allow the teleportation to the bed you've most recently slept in. Although the survival server is a no grief server, there is occasional griefing  which can be rolled back, but if a player were to grief a players bed by removing it, they would be unable to teleport back to their home. That's why I believe that we should enable automatic locking of beds, or at least allowing beds to be locked.

I quickly realize that Nick's homunculus is Sloth so I poke and prod it until it becomes a liquid.  I quickly mix it in with his water, which Nick then drinks.  As the homunculus sucks out Nick's life and flies away, I quietly get out my folding chair, prop it on top of the hill, put on some sunglasses, get out a good book and smile as I say "My hill!"

We the staff of PickAxis summon the ghouls and goblins of Halloween to come celebrate the impending launch of the PickAxis Beta!

And to start the otherworldly festivities, we're holding a Halloween themed build contest with frighteningly awesome prizes. Come and build until your heart's content. Here are the rules of the event, written in ancient runes by the ghosts of the deceased:

How to Enter
Anyone wishing to enter as a contestant should claim a plot in the Ghastly Realms Build Contest Server, accessible from the PickAxis Hub. Players can build with other people, but if the build wins a prize, contributing players must split the prize.

When to Build
Contestants will have from October 17 until October 30 at 11:59 PM Eastern Daylight Time. After that, the gates of the underworld will open, unleashing the judges of PickAxis upon the contestant's entries to select the most worthy of builds.

What to Win
Judges will choose three top builds and award the following prizes, usable once the store launches:
First Place Prize - $50 PickAxis credit
Second Place Prize - $30 PickAxis credit
Third Place Prize - $20 PickAxis credit

Announcing the Winners
The winners will be announced here on the PickAxis website. Be sure to watch the continuing coverage of the contest on the Geek Net and PickAxis YouTube channels now through October 31, All Hallows Eve.

Official Rules Builds cannot be offensive. All builds must be Halloween themed. What you build, i.e. a building, roller coaster, maze, interactive exhibit, haunted house, etc., is up to you. All builds, to be considered as an official entry, must be marked completed using the command /plot done. Any builds not identified as such by the close of the contest on October 30 at 11:59 PM Eastern Daylight Time (EDT), will not be judged as an entry. Criteria for judging, based on a 10 point scale, are as follows: Creativity, Originality, Halloween Theme, and Design. Point totals will not be made public. Have fun and think outside the coffin!
 
Tips for Entries To get started and find your plot, perform the command /plot auto. If your entry requires elements not set as the default environment in the contest world, instructions should be placed on a sign at the border of your entry plot, facing towards the path. Elements can include a day/night element or weather. Any questions on other possible element capabilities should be messaged to helios8385 Admin here on the forums. If there is a component of interaction involved with your entry, this must be EXPLICITLY and OBVIOUSLY noted on your contest plot. A sign along the outside edge of the plot, facing outwards towards the path, will suffice. All features of a creative server are enabled, including World Edit, redstone functionality, and gravel/sand block physics. Any questions on how to use World Edit should be Googled. Please don't bother the staff about your build.
